Catching Up...

Well, I've kind of gotten behind with this blog because I'm too busy knitting. :) I'm in the midst of custom orders right now, and I'm trying to squeeze in some in-stock items in my extra time (all five minutes of it). I'd love to have a big Black Friday sale, but I can't do that if I don't have anything in my store. :)

I've added a bunch of pictures on the Examples and Action Shots page, and I've also added a Customs Order Policies page. Please check that out before you order something custom-made. Photo Props in Action

My awesome college buddy at Black Oak Photography has been using some of my photo props. Her pictures are awesome! And I thought I'd share some so you could see a couple of my props in action. The first pic is my sweet baby boy wearing a Baby Beanies hat and pants. :) The hat costs $7, and the pants are still a work in progress (those short rows! *argh*). The rest of the pictures are of little Jaxon. The hat he's wearing is $10, and the baby hammock he is in is $40. I've also started making diaper covers and hope to have some pictures of those soon. I'm chugging through this order--it seems to be taking me forever!--but I am getting stuff done. And I'm getting ideas for some in-stock items too so keep your eyes open for some cute in-stock stuff in the--hopefully--near future. :)

The Cocoon in Action!

I had an awesome mama test my first cocoon, and she took tons of pictures of her adorable little guy in it. I thought I'd share a few, in case anyone wanted to see how it looks on a baby. My cocoons start at $10 (depending on the yarn you want), and you can get a cocoon and hat set for $14!

Exploring The World of Photography Props

I received a large order for some props from a photographer, and I'm having fun trying to figure out how to make this stuff! I've had to start over numerous times on the different things, but I've still managed to make some cute stuff. And I'll be adding some of these things as in-stock items as soon as I get time.

Looking for a tester...

I'm wanting to start carrying hat and cocoon sets, but I want to make sure my sizing is right. I knit up this cute set and would love for someone with a newborn to try it out for me. I'm only asking $7 + $2 shipping so it's basically like you're buying the hat and getting the cocoon for free. The yarn didn't knit up as nicely as I'd hoped, but I think it's still cute. It made me think of a turtle--that's why I put a turtle on the hat. I think this set would be super cute for pictures. I'm finally getting time to restock a few things. I'm working on some more, but here's what I've got so far:

Introducing the Scary Gehry Monster! This little guy is $7. You can custom order an organic one for $9!

My headbands usually fit a pretty wide range, but this one isn't quite as stretchy since I made it with suede yarn. It is, however, extra soft. It's probably too big for a newborn so I'd say it fits 3-9 months. $3

A Giveaway?

I'd love to do a giveaway to get some help spreading the word about Baby Beanies! I'm still thinking about what to do, but I'm thinking $10 of store credit. That way the winner can order pretty much whatever she wants. :) When will this giveaway take place and how do I enter, you ask? The giveaway will take place when I reach either 150 fans on Facebook or 150 followers on the blog. Some Recent Customs

Unfortunately Logan has been working on his top two teeth and has not been sleeping very much. I'm struggling to stay true to my one-week turnaround time, but I'm trying my hardest! Thanks for all the orders!

A Few Things...

I've been busy working on orders, and I'm loving it! Keep them coming! I just wanted to pop on here to mention a few things I've thought of.

Care Instructions: Please only wash your Baby Beanies by hand--I'm not sure how the appliques or pom-poms would hold up in the washer or dryer. They would probably be fine, but I'd rather not take the chance. :)

Turnaround Time: Right now the turnaround time is about a week, but it might get a little longer. I try to get things knitted as quickly as possible, but I do have two boys who sometimes don't quite cooperate. :) Also I want the hats to be perfect, and sometimes that means getting halfway and then having to start over.

New Products: I'm hoping to add more in stock products when I get the time, but I'm also hoping the orders don't slow down. :) If you're interested, feel free to order custom headbands ($3), legwarmers ($8), dish cloths ($2), scarves ($7), coasters ($6 for set of six), or baby capris/pants ($10). Those are the things I've made in the past and know I can make well. I'll be experimenting and adding more things as I have time. If there's something specific you want, let me know and I'll try it! :)
